About us

ABOUT THE FARM

The Agro Zobor Group was established through our long-standing activity in the field of agricultural production. Together with our partners, we manage approximately 3,500 hectares of land in Slovakia and Belarus. We are engaged in crop production as well as livestock breeding. At the same time, we implement projects in the fields of sustainable development, biodiversity protection, and increasing the ecological quality of the environment.

We breed 800 cattle (Aberdeen Angus, Limousine, Charolais, and Pinzgau breeds), 1,500 sheep (Lacaune, Improved Wallachian, Cigaya, and Suffolk breeds). We also breed goats, poultry, and pigs. Our horses, which graze in the meadows of the farm in Preselany, complete the scenery and delight the soul.

In Belarus, we are preparing to expand our operations to cultivate an additional 10,000 hectares of farmland, and to open an Angus cattle breeding operation. Aberdeen Angus is a naturally hornless breed and it is one of the most widely bred cattle breeds in the world.

The basic pillar of our mission is acting ecologically, so we focus on processes and technologies which are environmentally friendly, without the use of chemicals. Our sheep graze on mesophilic meadows in protected areas. In addition to precision farming, we strive to mitigate the effects of climate change through water conservation and anti-erosion measures.

Plant production

On our fields we grow forage crops without using pesticides or artificial fertilizers, we follow the rules of organic farming. We have also decided to incorporate so-called special crop production, which is one of the key priorities for applying environmental principles. In cooperation with the Slovak Union of Fruit Growers, we are preparing a project for an orchard in Preselany, where we will plant apple, plum and apricot trees.

  • – Fodder - without chemical treatment
  • – Special crop production - cabbage, orchard
  • – Oats, barley, lucerne, grass on arable land

BREEDING

Most of our animals are cared for in accordance with organic husbandry practices. We prefer for them to move freely throughout the year, which has a positive impact on the surrounding landscape. By grazing the meadows, they also save us from a lot of mowing.

  • – Cattle breeding
  • – Chicken breeding for meat + eggs
  • – Pig breeding
  • – Sheep breeding
  • – Goat breeding
